Dear Galileo Parents/Guardians,

Calling all young artists!  The West Ada School District’s annual District Art Show is coming up and we want to showcase the incredible talent we have here at Galileo STEM Academy by encouraging our students to use their imaginations to create an original piece of art around this year’s theme “Celebrate Idaho in Our Community” (e.g. landmarks, state symbols, special places, geography, people important to Idaho History, etc.).

We will be collecting these art pieces until March 8, 2019 at the front office.  At this time our judges will select a winner from the Elementary level and the Middle School level to receive our School’s Choice Award, and these two art pieces will go on to be prominently displayed at the District Service Office!  From all of the schools in the West Ada School District there will be one District Choice Award winner chosen from each school level.  Additional pieces will be selected to receive awards which include: Meridian Mayor’s Award, Star Mayor’s Award, Eagle Mayor’s Award, Superintendent’s Award, Boise State University Dean of Education Award, Eagle Chamber of Commerce Award, Board of Trustee Award (Elementary, Middle and High School), West Ada Director’s Award, Idaho State University’s Award, Eagle Arts Commission Award and Meridian Arts Commission Award, and will be displayed in their respective offices!

New artwork as well as pieces created earlier in the school year may be submitted.  All art piece submissions must be accompanied by a completed student entry form found here and must meet all criteria as outlined by the West Ada School District in these here and here.  Copies of the entry forms and contest information may also be obtained at the front office.

We look forward to seeing all the amazing artwork our talented Galileo students can create, and we appreciate your continued support of our school and your young artists!
